CBT GROUPS

In the following districts and cities training seminars for SVT representatives were organized

Samarkand

Samarkand is a favorable place for CBT development. Now this direction is developing in the region as never before. The vineyards alone are worth paying attention to. Local wineries offer daily tastings and tours of their vineyards. Tourists are offered to harvest their own crops and participate in all stages of making amazing wines.

Samarkand is famous for its bazaars full of selected fruits and delicacies, and numerous souvenir shops where tourists can buy unusual, bright elements of national clothing, figurines, books and necessary guides for city guests in different languages.

Most of the population speaks English, Russian and Uzbek, so there are no problems with communication. Local residents are used to a large flow of tourists, so they treat everyone kindly: they will always tell you the way, show you where you can eat and spend a comfortable night, and tell you legends and unusual stories about one of the most ancient cities in Uzbekistan.

Over the centuries, Samarkand has not lost its unique atmosphere of the ancient East, attracting and charming thousands of tourists every year.

Urgut

Urgut is a small city in the Samarkand region.

The main attraction of Surgut is the Chor-Chinor complex (four chinars). The oldest tree here is more than 1100 years old. Ten adults can fit inside the trunk at the same time. Ruins of a ninth-century Nestorian Church were found near the complex.

To buy antique carpets, suzans, leather shoes, ceramic dishes and other unique Souvenirs made in the traditional Uzbek style, visit the largest Bazaar of the Samarkand region – it is located at the entrance to Urgut.

In Urgut, there is a workshop of the Cloudulov family of ceramists in 17 generations. In their home, you can learn about the ancient process of making ceramic dishes, as well as the traditional artistic embroidery of suzane with silk threads dyed with natural dyes.

Above the city is the karst plateau of Kyrktau (forty mountains), where there are more than 100 caves, including the 990m-deep Kilsi chasm with vertical wells up to 90M and an underground lake.

In the village of Amankutan there is a beautiful pine grove, the trees of which were planted in tsarist times – more than 100 years ago.

Shakhrisabz

Shakhrisabz is known as the birthplace of the great ruler Amir Temur. Now the city has not lost its greatness: in 2000, UNESCO declared the historical center of Shakhrisabz a world heritage masterpiece.

Shakhrisabz is a small town in the foothills of the Hissar mountains on the border with the Karshi steppe. The traditions of the ancient East reign here, which undoubtedly attracts fans of CBT tourism. The special atmosphere of the city allows tourists to experience the peculiarities of medieval life. The architectural monuments of the city were not subjected to major repairs, so guests of the city when visiting the oldest buildings will literally be able to move back 6 centuries.

Specially for tourists in all cities of Kashkadarya region, volunteer groups were created, dressed in easily recognizable uniforms, to help tourists in the city. A special tourist police was also organized. For the safety of local residents and visitors, all roads in the city were equipped with a new video surveillance system.

Various festivals, master classes and performances of national ensembles are held annually in Shakhrisabz. The city is actively developing in the field of tourism, but it does not lose its atmosphere of the middle ages and Eastern charm.

Altyaryk

The Ferghana valley, or Pearl of Uzbekistan, is a special corner of Central Asia. Irrigation is particularly developed in the region, which has turned the place into a favorable region with unique landscapes.

The Ferghana valley has a favorable climate: moderate heat in summer and no severe cold in winter. Thousands of tourists visit the region every year. What attracts travelers?

The district is famous for the fertility of its land. Here you can always buy selected vegetables and fruits. Dozens of new grape varieties bred by local residents are the pride of the Ferghana valley.

Of particular interest to lovers of CBT cause treatments on the sandy hills Silskih Sands. There, guests of the region can enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the object. Accommodation facilities were built especially for guests of the city near the most interesting places of the region.

Kokand

Kokand is another city with great potential for CBT development.

Over the long centuries of its existence, Kokand has repeatedly succumbed to destruction and was built anew. Kokand was a major trading center during the great silk road. After the city became part of Russia, it began to develop rapidly, European buildings began to dilute the appearance of the traditional Eastern corner.

Kokand consists of new and old parts. Novy is full of modern buildings, banks, businesses, and the old city is home to the oldest architectural monuments: Khan’s Palace-Urda, monuments of folk residential architecture, mosques, madrassas and memorial buildings.

The continental climate of Kokand allows tourists to travel through the historical monuments of the city almost all year round.

Tashkent

Tashkent combines the features of a modern metropolis and the traditional comfort of an ancient city of the East. Here you will find a variety of cuisine, a variety of accommodation options.

It is important for city guests to know that Tashkent has a well-developed medicine, and crowds of people come to the city to improve their health. Medical services are relatively inexpensive, but they are not inferior to foreign technologies in quality. There are many modern rehabilitation centers and country sanatoriums.

The city has developed a video surveillance system, highly qualified police officers, which provides guaranteed security to local residents and visitors.

Tashkent is located in comparative proximity to the Chimgan mountains, where recreation areas, cable cars and observation platforms function all year round. In the fields and meadows you can ride horses, feed animals with your hands and enjoy the cleanest mountain air. In winter, winter sports are very popular here. Since there is a lot of snow in the mountains in winter, crowds of tourists come to ski, sled and snowboard. There are a lot of open and closed swimming pools and water parks in Tashkent, and there are beaches near the Charvak reservoir and Tashmor, which are especially popular in the summer heat of Tashkent.

Guests of the city can be impressed by the uniqueness of the Tashkent metro, the most beautiful metro in Central Asia. Each station is unique, made in the national style.

Every year, Tashkent is becoming more and more popular for travelers and lovers of CBT city.

Bukhara

Bukhara is a Museum city where you can see more than 140 architectural monuments of the Middle ages. The historical center of the city is included in the UNESCO world heritage List. Most of all, tourists are attracted to the Old city – it is a small area where no transport is required. Everything is located here: palaces, temples, workshops, stables, a well.

If you are not interested in ancient monuments, you can go to the bathhouse. Borzi-KORD Hammam is one of the most famous public baths in Bukhara. For tourists, the sauna is open until midnight. The session includes massage and scrubbing services.

The ecological center “Jeyran”is very popular. The cattery started breeding gazelles, artiodactyls and cats for the needs of zoos and individuals. Currently, the center breeds different types of animals – fish, mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and invertebrates. For tourists, there are Safari excursions, where they can not only see the animals, but also feed them.

Zaamin

Zaamin is an ecologically clean area with unique flora and fauna. It is located on the territory of the Zaamin nature reserve.

During excavations in the Zaamin district, remains of settlements Dating back more than 2500 years were found. Even in ancient times, the region was famous for its fertile soil. Zaamin nature reserve occupies more than 24 thousand hectares, and has a unique landscape.

In Zaamin, you can find such rare birds as woodpecker, Bunting, turtledove, dark-throated thrush, Turkestan owl and Turkestan Starling. An unusual bird lives here-the juniper oak-bearer. Permanent inhabitants of the Zaamin highlands are the Turkestan lynx, black stork, Central Asian ibex and white-footed bear.

Zaamin is called “Uzbek” Switzerland for its rich flora. There are more than 800 species of plants, including various types of coniferous trees.

Ecotourism is actively developing in the Park, and the Zaamin mountains claim to be listed as a natural world heritage site by UNESCO. The zaaminsky reserve looks especially beautiful in spring and autumn, when everything around is painted in bright colors, and the mountain air is especially beautiful.

The features of Zaamin make this place ideal for CBT tourism.

Farish region

To plunge into the life of local residents, tourists should visit the mountain villages of Asraf, Ukhum, Hayat, Majrum, Sentyabsay, located near the district center of Farish. Here, guests of the city can walk through the picturesque surroundings of the villages, admire nature and listen to the singing of birds.

Hiking along mountain trails from one village to another is very popular in this area. Passing through the village, you will find the daily work of local residents: cultivating the land, preparing animal feed, repairing houses, cooking yogurt, traditional women’s needlework. Local residents are friendly to tourists and invite them to their homes for a traditional Uzbek tea party.

Not far from the settlements there are ancient rock paintings, a thousand-year-old sycamore tree, a nursery of endemic Kyzylkum sheep of Severtsev.

Tourists can spend the night in the traditional homes of local residents. The owners of such houses were trained as part of the European project to support rural communities in tourism. In such houses there are no beds, here people sleep traditionally – on the floor. Each house has a garden with fruit trees.

Tourists can participate in milking goats and other farm animals, help in cooking national food and cleaning the house.

Khiva

According to one of the legends, Khiva was founded by Shem – the son of the biblical Noah. Khiva is an open-air Museum that is protected by UNESCO.

The climate is sharply continental, with hot and dry summers and fairly cold winters.

Since ancient times, Khiva has been distinguished by its masters of wood carving, carpet weaving and jewelers. Every year, various festivals and master classes on craft are held in Khiva, where everyone can take part in the manufacture of pottery, glass, jewelry and woven products.

Visit one of the carpet workshops in Khiva, entrance to almost all workshops in the city is free. There you will be able to observe the process of making masterpieces of carpet weaving.

Every year, more and more green parks and gardens are being built in the Khorezm region. Lovers of fresh air-there.

Ellikkala

Ellikkala – a region in Karakalpakstan-is becoming a popular place for tourists to visit. Experts in the tourism sector saw ellikkalinsky district as a favorable place for the development of CBT tourism.

The locals believe that the Holy places in Ellikkala bring patients visitors the healing. The mausoleums of Wali Abdullo Narinjan, Sultan uwais and mount Munajat are particularly revered.

The rites of healing in Holy places are simple: all parishioners, taking off their shoes, enter the mausoleum, in the depths of which the ashes of the Saint rest behind the bars. People take turns coming to the bars, kneeling and praying-asking to get rid of their diseases and perform miracles. At the exit from the mausoleum, a Mullah sits and reads a prayer to them.

Another sacred place is the mountain near the gorge. A winding staircase with an iron railing leads to the top. Pilgrims believe that if you tie a piece of cloth on the railing and pray for the healing of your illness, the disease will surely recede.

In one of the buildings of the uwais mausoleum ensemble, there is a corridor that runs around its entire perimeter. It is believed that this corridor must be passed three times, after which the patient will get rid of any diseases.

Nukus

The climate in Nukus is sharply continental, with very little rain. It’s hot most of the time. In part, the climate features are explained by the proximity of the Kyzylkum desert. It is best to visit the city in spring.

The Aral sea attracts thousands of tourists every year. All travelers want to see a live lesson for all of humanity. Of particular interest is the cemetery of ships of the Aral sea near Muynak, where the rusty and mangled remains of ancient ships have literally grown into the sand.

Since ancient times, various areas of applied art have developed in Nukus. Therefore, everyone can buy Handicrafts here. For example, carved jewelry boxes, clothing with applications, figurines made of wood, stone, and ceramics, and leather accessories.

In the warm season, tourists can ride camels and ride them through the Kyzylkum desert. Visit a Yurt camp in the desert to watch the sunrise.

Khanabad

There are many places in Andijan that attract thousands of travelers, especially CBT lovers.

On the coast of the Karadarya river is located the city of Khanabad, based on one of the branches of the Great silk road. The main natural attraction is the Fozilmon – OTA spring, which has healing properties. A joint Uzbek-Russian-British company is engaged in bottling mineral water from the spring.

Another attraction of Khanabad is the reservoir. The history of the grandiose construction of the times of the Soviet Union is told by the exhibits of the Museum, which is located next to the reservoir. Here you will learn about all the stages of its construction, starting with the digging of the pit and ending with the solemn moment when the symbolic key was passed. The halls of the Museum also contain archaeological finds Dating back to the 9th century, discovered during construction work.

Termez

Surkhandarya region has a great potential for the development of CBT, as local residents are mainly engaged in agricultural crops.

Termez has long been famous for the skill of its artisans. As Souvenirs from Termez, you can bring bags, jewelry, shawls and skullcaps, figurines, boxes and musical instruments. Naturally, all this is made by hand. As well as national robes, which can be made of a variety of fabrics.

In Surkhandarya region, much attention is paid to mountain and ecological tourism. A number of ancient archaeological and architectural monuments, ruins of ancient Zoroastrian, Nestorian and Buddhist fortresses and settlements, as well as monuments of Islamic architecture have been preserved in Termez and its surroundings.

Baisun

Baisun has been captivating local residents and visitors for many decades with its magnificent landscapes and centuries-old history, so this area will also interest CBT fans.

Trade caravans have been moving through the Iron Gates of a narrow mountain gorge for thousands of years. The armies of Alexander the great, Genghis Khan, and Amir Timur passed through Baisun.

Neanderthal remains were found in the Teshik-Tash cave, and you can also see rock paintings of ” magical bull hunting of the Mesolithic era.

In the villages of the Baysuntoga mountains, you will find yourself in a completely different world, where you can plunge into the atmosphere of traditional centuries-old life. Here the relations between people have been preserved almost in their original state. Each family, mahalla, and village carefully preserves and passes on from generation to generation handicraft traditions, home-building culture, and family rituals.

In the spring, the fields of dehkan are cultivated in the old way: furrows are laid, relying on a plow, which is harnessed by a horse.

Parkent

Parkent is a small foothill town with a population of 35,000 inhabitants. This is a city far from civilization, where the locals live, observing medieval customs and traditions. This place is ideal for visiting CBT.

There is a lot of snow on the Chatkal ridge almost all year round, which means that there is always fresh healthy air in this place.

The main attraction of Parkent Is the Institute of Solar physics, which is a large solar panel. The sun here seems brighter, and the Institute itself seems to be located under the sky.

Parkent is famous for its kebabs. In each kebab shop you can try dozens of types of this unique national dish, talk to the indigenous residents of Parkent, who will tell you the legends of this region.

In the village of Champagne, wine grapes are bred. The tradition of growing grapes appeared here in the mid-19th century, and still the locals adhere to the custom. Local grapes are considered the most delicious in Uzbekistan.

Bashkyzylsay river impresses tourists with its unusual dotted line of rapids and natural baths. Here you can walk along the rocks on the slope, which are a stone forest. Petroglyphs have been preserved on many of the stones. In total, about 600 images were found in this place, which depict the life of people 2500 years ago: hunting scenes, drawings of animals themselves.

Bostanlyk

The residents of Bostanlyk live in one close-knit team, which has its own representative and its own self-government bodies. Local residents are mainly engaged in agriculture, cattle breeding, small-scale trade, beekeeping, folk crafts and providing tourist services privately. Therefore, Bostanlyk is a favorable place for the development of CBT tourism.

Folk customs of the area are diverse. Local residents are distinguished by original embroidery on skullcaps.

Bostanlyk honey is considered the best, clean and useful in all of Uzbekistan. There are many places for beekeeping in the area, which can be visited by anyone.

On the left Bank of the Kuruksai stream is the famous “stone mushroom”- a huge block 5 m high and 2 m wide. The diameter of the leg of the “mushroom” to the top narrows to 1.5 meters, and the width of the “cap” reaches 3.5 – 4 meters in span.

Local residents provide tourist services – the so-called topchan tourism. Topchan is a traditional place for sleeping and resting. The indigenous population will be able to arrange excursions to the many sites and interesting natural features.

Bostanlyk is shrouded in thousands of years of legends, and it seems that every stone on the road has its own unique history.
