NAMANGAN REGION

Namangan region is one of the fertile regions of Uzbekistan, located in the Ferghana valley, bordered on the West by the Tashkent region, on the South and East by the Ferghana and Andijan regions.

Namangan occupies the territory in the North of the valley, on the right Bank of the Syr Darya river. 25 kilometers from the city of Namangan is an area known for archaeological research — the ancient settlement of Aksikent.

Namangan has long been considered a city of flowers, and the region as a whole is a land of unsurpassed gardeners and winegrowers. One of the popular cities of Namangan region is Chust, which is famous for making knives. Since ancient times, these knives have been very popular not only in the Republic, but also abroad.
