If you go from the other side of Tashkent, you can get to the Charvak reservoir.
This Pearl of the Western Tien Shan appeared only recently, in 1970. It was then that a stone-filled dam with a height of 168 meters was created, behind which, at the confluence of the Pskov, Koksu and Chatkal rivers, a mountain lake was formed – the Charvak reservoir – the blue water of which beckons on hot summer days.
Once here, on the site of the current bottom, there were settlements, mounds, evidence of the sites of primitive man, petroglyphs and other historical monuments.
Located 60 km away. from Tashkent, the Charvak reservoir, often referred to simply as Charvak, is the most popular holiday destination for local residents. The shoreline of the reservoir is almost 100 km long, and half of this length is covered by many recreation areas, boarding houses and children’s camps. It offers a beautiful view of the peaks of Big and Small Chimgan, and other rocky mountains, which are also popular tourist attractions among residents and visitors of the capital.
Getting to the Charvak reservoir will not be difficult: just an hour by car on the high-speed highway from Tashkent and a clean mountain lake is already at your feet. Here you can swim, walk around the surrounding hills and mountains, as well as fly on a paraglider or ride with the wind on a scooter, and, of course, see incredible sunrises and sunsets.
